Environmental Specialist II

Pennsylvania General Energy (PGE) is seeking a full time Environmental Specialist II to contribute to the organization's multiple projects related to continued growth and development in the Appalachian Basin. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience to work in a technical capacity on multiple and concurrent projects, includes regulatory and subcontractor aspects related to development, staying abreast of status of permits; preparing and reviewing technical project documents; performs field work as needed for projects related but not limited to erosion control plans, clearing, drilling, development of containment sites and other environmental planning efforts.

Prefer significant experience in the field as demonstrated by years (3-5 years) of direct experience with environmental programs and Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering or similar degree. Understanding of regulations in PA and industry related requirements. Proven ability to independently develop, implement, and administer complex plans and processes through effective communication skills including translation of regulatory compliance and across multi- disciplinary teams. Must have ability to handle challenging situations with the public and possess comprehensive knowledge of natural gas industry operations.


Software Developer (contract position)

Migrate access applications to ASP.NET web applications, create queries and reports to support business needs. Technical skills to perform the assignments for PGE include: visual studio 2010 IDE, visual basic, MVC 3 ASP.NET, HTML and CSS, JavaScript (JQuery, AJAX), SQL Server 2008 (Stored procedures, Triggers, SSRS), MS Access (VBA), REST Web Services, IIS 7, TFS and other source control repositories a plus. PHP, Ruby on Rails, Java, Scala and other frameworks a plus.

Requirements: 3-5 years previous experience creating and deploying web applications, MVC design pattern, object oriented programming, SQL server database design and normalization, test driven deployment, desktop and console development experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
